F . A . Q

  • How Do I Join a Fraternity/Sorority?

-Every Organization within this council host their own Rush Week. It is a Week full of FREE events open to all so you can explore your options and get to know Brothers/Sisters. Each organization has their own set of requirements to be eligible for a bid (an official invitation to join the organization). Check out their websites to know what they are or contact them.

(This is only subject within NAPC Council Organizations, all other Councils have their own methods).

  • How Do I Get Greek Organizations to be Interested in Me?

-The first step if you are that interested is to DO YOUR RESEARCH. It always helps. However, do not force yourself onto a Greek Organization without exploring other ones. Greek Life may not even be fit for you.

  • What Can Greek Life do for me?

You will inherit these skills:

  1. Leadership development

  2. Interpersonal skills

  3. Personal growth

  4. Problem solving skills

  5. Cultural awareness

  6. Critical thinking skills

  7. Moral development

  8. Self-esteem

  9. Civic engagement

  10. Vocational aspirations

  11. Be part of an everlasting brotherhood/sisterhood**

  • Why are Greek Organizations Exclusive?

-It is not a club where anyone can join. Just as sports is exclusive to skill and talent amongst its members, different Greek Organizations choose exclusively depending on who they are looking for. However, what all Greek Organizations have in common is that we strive for the same thing:

  1. Good standing with the University (excellent studies)

  2. Passion in anything

  3. Diligence; someone who is willing to work hard and excel in all areas: community service, scholarship, philanthropy, and professionalism.

  4. Networking

  5. A Second Home Away from Home; whether its a brotherhood or a sisterhood, we mostly join to be part of a second family that we vibe with.

  6. POTENTIAL

  • Reasons I Should NOT Join A Fraternity/Sorority:

  1. The Esteem

  2. To Be Noticed; Popularity

  3. Because of their reputation; (do not join a sorority solely because they are known for "being the best" or "the smartest" or "the most handsome." It is important to choose one that you connect with personally.

  4. Something else to add to my Resume; We are exclusive for a reason and we strive to find someone who goes above and beyond for their organization.
